Set along Chicago's lakefront, the beautiful residential building at 999 Lake Shore Drive was part of a land grab so extensive, it was constested for more than five decades. Mr. Richard B. Fizdale, author of 999: A History of Chicago in Ten Stories, will detail the history of this iconic building. He will take you inside 999 to meet some of the people who lived there - from the gangster who lived in Cook County Jail by day and 999 by night to the couple who dreamed of Athens and started Aspen. Many residents had connections to Lake Forest, including the woman who was "married" to the ghost of one of our most honored residents.

This program is co-sponsored with the Lake Forest Book Store and the Lake Forest-Lake Bluff Senior Center. Books will be available for purchase for $79.95 plus tax.

Reservations are requested for this free event - fill out the form below or call 847.234.5253.
