Join Curator Laurie Stein as she tells the stories of local residents and their patriotic involvement in World War I.

With Great Lakes Naval Station to the north and Fort Sheridan to the south, Lake Forest and Lake Bluff quickly became centers of military strength and home front patriotism during the Great War.

This program features research gathered from sources such as The Lake Forester and Chicago Daily Tribune newspapers, which kept excellent record of local activities, including work by the YMCA, YWCA, Navy League, American Fund for French Wounded, and the American Red Cross.
