Salon Series Kickoff & Twenty in the 20s Exhibit Opening Night: All That Jazz — An Evening with Singer/Songwriter Maggie Brown

Thursday, February 13, 2020
6:30 pm
Hunter Family Education Hall
$35 for one person, $60 for two people

In her hometown Chicago, Maggie Brown is called on to bring authenticity and integrity to whatever the job calls for. This special Valentine’s event will feature Brown’s masterful storytelling and singing. Inspired by female recording artists prominent in the 1920s she will vocalize on an era when Jazz, Flappers, Fashion & Jazz Poetry began influencing pop culture. Also known as the Golden Age of Jazz, this period ushered in literary and societal upward mobility for African Americans. Tied in to the significance of the Great Migration, Maggie Brown’s interactive performance will highlight some pioneering women in the early days of the recording industry.

Guests will also have the opportunity to preview the opening of a new exhibit, "Twenty in the 20s: A Century of Change" in the Katherine Bell Hale Gallery.

This event is sponsored by Radford Green and Sedgebrook.
