The David Adler Estate in Libertyville served as both the summer and full-time residence of renowned Chicago architect David Adler from 1918 until his death in 1949.

The estate includes the 1918 remodeled farmhouse, servant’s cottage, barn, courtyard and extensive remnants of the formally landscaped gardens. David Adler is known for his eclectic approach to the architecture of estate houses and that is certainly reflected in his own home. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the property today includes the estate and 11 acres. In 1981, Adler’s grandnephew David Boyd donated a considerable amount of original furniture to the house.
