The Lake Forest-Lake Bluff Historical Society is located at 361 East Westminster in downtown Lake Forest, Illinois. We are one block east of the Lake Forest Metra train station and the Market Square shopping district.

Hours: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Open Sundays from Labor Day through Memorial Day.

The Lake Forest-Lake Bluff Historical Society’s new book Walter Frazier: Frazier, Raftery, Orr & Fairbank Architects, Houses of Chicago’s North Shore, 1924-1970 is now available! This book, by authors Kim Coventry and Arthur Miller, is the first bring to light the accomplishments of this architectural luminary who designed over twenty residences in Lake Forest and Lake Bluff. 

Walter Frazier designed stylish and livable classic residences, clubs, and hotels, many on Chicago’s upper North Shore. His unique designs span numerous styles and perspectives and are significant for the unity of their fashionable exteriors, landscape and garden settings, and their handsome interiors. Focused on Frazier’s architectural work in Lake Forest and Lake Bluff, this lavishly illustrated book is the definitive study on the work of Frazier.
