west side stories exhibit open - lecture july 17

Our latest exhibit, West Side Storiesis now open to the public. West Side Stories will be at the Historical Society through the end of the 2014. Parts of it are also on tour at various locations in west Lake Forest, including Lake Forest Place and the Telegraph Road Metra train station. three centennial families honored with awards

At our Annual Meeting on May 4, three families were honored with Centennial Family Awards: the Beye-Rickhoff-Witberg-Stein family; the Mark-Saville family; and the Sneddon-Larsen family. You can learn more about these families and see family photos dating back over a century online - visit our Centennial Family Awards page and click on the family name.

 

 

tour of mundelein seminary| september 20

This not-to-be-missed program at University of St. Mary of the Lake/Mundelein Seminary will include an architectural and historical walking tour of the grounds and interiors including the Chapel and Library. Bishop George Rassas, former Pastor at Church of St. Mary, will lead a special visit to Cardinal Mundelein’s Villa, rarely open to the public. Transportation historian Norman Carlson will talk about the impact of the 1926 Eucharistic Congress.
