As the saying goes, we would be history without volunteers! The Historical Society’s wonderful corps of volunteers forms the backbone of our organization in so many ways, from assisting with event setup and helping with mailings to scanning photographs and writing history feature articles.
Volunteer hours at the Historical Society may take place Tuesday-Friday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., on Sunday between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., or at special events.
Availability of volunteer projects may vary. Training by the museum staff is provided where needed. We are happy to work with high school students looking for service hours.
Current volunteer projects include (but are not limited to): Scanning photographs, filing newspaper clippings and other materials in the research files, transcribing oral history interviews, and data entry for our online telephone directory databases.
